While studying at University of Oregon School of Music,
and also producing records for regional acts, I asked
The Dean at the School of Music
if I could teach a class in Recording Arts.
That one class led to another, and then another, and within a year we had started
University of Oregon's first Recording Arts Program.
In 1985, I brought that program to Los Angeles, and started
the Los Angeles Recording Workshop.
It was the first of its kind,
an intensive hands-on school specifically for Recording Engineers and Music Producers.
The school grew steadily, and over the years it became the largest in Los Angeles.
Many of today's top engineers and producers trained there.
In 2004, I sold the school to the owners of L.A. Film School and Full Sail University, and it became Los Angeles
Recording School. Since then, LARS has become the largest recording engineer school in the West, with nearly a thousand recording students each year.
As of this writing, their tuition for an associate degree in recording is $29,500.
That's too much, isn't it?
That's why I started Academy of Digital Arts. It's the place where you can get that education and experience,
and an Associate of Science Degree in Recording Arts, without becoming a debt slave.
Our Mission is clear, to offer you outstanding Digital Arts - Recording Arts training,
in multi-dimensional theory classes and small-group labs, with
state-of-the-industry technology, at a reasonable tuition cost.
Thanks for taking the time to learn about us.
After 28 years as a Recording Arts educator,
I'm as excited as ever to be a part of your future.
